Job Purpose
To ensure that robust financial controls are defined, implemented, and maintained across Al Tayer Motors. This role supports the Finance leadership team in strengthening the internal control environment, promoting compliance with financial policies and procedures, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. This position also plays a key role in managing the end-to-end audit process, supporting automation and ERP-related process improvements, and enhancing financial governance through policy development and training.
Roles and Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the ATM Finance function as part of the finance leadership team.
Design, implement, and regularly review financial policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and ensure consistency across the organization.
Establish and maintain a compliance framework to identify and remediate control deficiencies or instances of non-compliance.
Ensure alignment between financial controls, business risks, and the strategic objectives of ATM.
Identify emerging financial and operational risks through the assessment of business processes and recommend actionable mitigation strategies.
Provide technical accounting guidance and financial advice to both finance teams and operational managers.
Lead interim and year-end audits as a key point of contact for external auditors, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate audit deliverables.
Conduct regular internal reviews to assess the design and operational effectiveness of financial controls across the business.
Develop and implement action plans to address control weaknesses, including delivering targeted training to managers and supervisors.
Standardize and oversee monthly and periodic closing activities, including full ownership of balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with best practices and internal policy.
Manage the end-to-end audit process, ensuring timely, accurate deliverables and acting as the main liaison with auditors, coordinating inputs and evidence across functions and supporting all external audit requirements.
Track and follow up on action items resulting from internal and external audits to ensure timely resolution.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date SOPs and financial documentation to support audit-readiness and compliance.
Support the finance function in enhancing ERP systems and reporting tools to improve transparency, compliance, and efficiency.
Review consolidated financial statements to ensure IFRS compliance and validate accuracy for management sign-off.
Perform risk assessments across finance and operational areas, recommending mitigation strategies where risk exposure exceeds acceptable thresholds.
Develop and deliver control training modules for finance and non-finance stakeholders to build awareness and drive compliance across business units.
Drive automation and digitization projects within finance, enhancing the accuracy, speed, and control of transactional and reporting processes.
Partner with IT and Finance stakeholders to support ERP upgrades, ensure adequate system controls, and maintain data integrity.
Contribute to finance transformation initiatives by streamlining workflows and eliminating redundancies
Qualifications & Experience
Professional accounting qualification Fully Qualified CPA, ACCA, ACA, CA or equivalent
Six Sigma qualification advantageous
Excellent MS Office software proficiency and exposure to ERP solutions
5+ years post qualification experience in a fast-paced multinational organization
Audit experience preferred, ideally with global audit firms
Prior experience in managerial / leadership role
Project Management experience desirable
Automotive experience advantageous
IFRS and Financial Compliance – Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and regulatory requirements.
