Lead Business Area Manager
In this role, you will be responsible to abide with ABB safety and integrity guidelines with zero tolerance and Live ABB core values. Champion the right behaviors and model the high-quality leadership skills. The work model for this role (onsite) This role is contributing to Motion Business Area based in Dubai UAE. You will be mainly accountable for:
•Coordinating and aligning execution strategy with Local Business Manager and the right stake-holders in the business to be aligned with LSU objectives and strategic direction.
•Leading the project management, order handling, supply chain, logistics and engineering teams driving best in class operational execution for Motion Business and all our Divisions in UAE.
•Strategic leadership and guidance to the teams, driving and managing complex projects / con-tracts and ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.
•Leading the execution teams, establishing the projects / orders execution approach, overseeing project hand-over protocols and execution planning, monitoring and steering activities for both internal and external resources accomplishing all operations / projects goals, financial targets and strategic objectives. Leading, coaching and guiding the Project Managers to deliver superior customer experience through flawless execution of orders. Establishing maintaining and im-proving operations processes in line with ABB framework and Motion Operations guidelines.
•Leading, driving and running project reviews with the right stakeholders in the business applying best management practices.
•Defining jointly with the right stakeholders including controlling, quality and legal functions all project / orders plan documents, including scope and financial plans, scheduling and risk management plans.
•Ensuring that execution and project management teams follow best practices and ABB policies. Effectively monitoring projects / orders progress and efficient resource utilization.
•Monitoring and leading delivery of operational financials and high -level business objectives, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identifying, qualifying, quantifying and managing project risks, and ensuring that all opportunities are identified and pursued.
•Capturing, analyzing and sharing lessons learned throughout the project. Ensuring that the pro-jects / contracts is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Ensuring the formal acceptance of the projects, contract close-out including warranty obligations and its acknowledgement by the customer.
•Ensuring that the project management team consistently applies contract and claims man-agement, in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements. Leading the Supply Chain Management, and successfully procuring all required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Supporting Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes. Ensure ABB guidelines for supply chain and competitive bidding are followed rigorously with zero tolerance.
• Acting as the key contact for customer escalations during execution lifecycle and acting strategically to resolve customer complaints with the needed speed. Building and maintaining strong and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all needed levels to support strategic operations and the business effectively, communicating with all stake-holders internally and externally to ensure on time and on quality flow of information as needed.
•Ensuring the project / contract follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies. Coaching and providing feedback for direct reports, setting the people up for success. Performance management and developing the people to the best of their ability building high-performing execution team – Project Managers, Order handlers, Supply Chain, Logistics and Engineering. Ensuring future readiness of the organization and professional succession planning.
•Significant contribution to the LSU / BA Growth plans and sales strategy. Proper financial planning and target setting for operational KPIs to the respective teams that fits with BA, Divisions and LSU financial plan and strategic objectives.
•Ensuring revenue recognition as per the plan. Improving cash conversion cycle through flawless execution. Improving Projects / Orders GM% and NM% to support divisions and business area profitability. Ensuring Internal and external hand over meetings are happening according to ABB guidelines and project management best practices. Significant contribution to contracts negotiation. Closing coordination with Country, Division and BA functions ensuring proper resources planning as well as financial planning for operational KPIs.
•Developing, leading and implementing efficiently all operations, project and order execution activities targeting customer satisfaction in line with project cost structure, scope and time dimension. Ensuring efficient management of sub-contractors, suppliers, service providers and site works according to project targets.
•Ensuring customer satisfaction through proper COTD, quality and flaw less execution. Projects close out on time coupled with collection of related payments’ analysis, periodization and reve-nue planning on regular basis. Keeping the LSU sales teams & customers updated with progress of the projects during execution.
•Working closely with sales team to annually assess their needs to achieve targets. Working in tandem with sales team developing sales approaching tactics according to key learnings from execution and best practices of project management.
•Strong leadership and close coordination with divisions and supply units ensuring improved de-livery and cost optimization. Set the right ambitions, relevant and achievable OPEX targets in cooperation with all stakeholders in the LSU and Divisions.
•Achieving cost saving targets set by Local BA Manager every year. Delivering the revenue growth ambition with targeted profitability. Developing the competencies in Project Management, Order Handling, Supply Chain, logistics and engineering.
Hi•External-In market Orientation and very strong customer-focused approach. Developing and generating business opportunities for sales teams / upselling.
